In commemoration of Kenya’s 60th anniversary of independence today, Broadway Group of Companies has unveiled an initiative that goes beyond the usual corporate rhetoric.

The company, known for its commitment to corporate social responsibility, is set to bring some genuine joy to the community with a significant effort.

In a departure from the usual celebratory events, Broadway Group has launched an ambitious project to provide hot meals to 3,000 individuals spread across various wards in Thika Constituency.

This initiative draws inspiration from the ongoing success of the company’s food donation programme, which has been supporting 150 families in the Madharau Slum of Thika daily for the past two years.

The decision to expand the food donation programme aligns with Broadway Group’s dedication to making a tangible impact on the lives of those grappling with economic challenges.

This modest step towards fostering community well-being is especially aimed at bringing smiles to faces during the Christmas season.

“As Kenya marks 60 years of progress, Broadway Group is honored to contribute to the welfare of our community. Our ongoing food donation programme, now expanded to benefit more families in Thika Constituency, is a manifestation of our dedication to making a meaningful difference in the lives of the less fortunate,” said Bimal Shah, Director of Broadway Group.

In conjunction with this charitable initiative, Broadway Bakery Limited, a subsidiary of Broadway Group, is marking 66 years of dedicated service as a prominent manufacturer of bread and snacks in Kenya since 1958.

Broadway Bakery has earned a reputation for quality and excellence, serving the community with delicious and wholesome baked goods.

“As Broadway Bakery turns 66, we take pride in our journey of providing nourishing products to Kenyan households. This anniversary is a celebration of the trust placed in us by our customers and the community. We are excited to enhance our food donation efforts to mark this occasion,” said Francis Musila, CEO of Broadway Group.

The food donation drive took place on December 9th, 2023, in various wards of Thika Constituency, to reach individuals and families in need.

Broadway Group expresses gratitude to the community for their continued support and encourages others to join in creating a positive impact.
